On Sunday, March 20, 2022, twelve singers will begin their journey to become the N100 million grand prize winner of Nigerian Idol Season 7.
For the Nigerian Idol Live Show, which begins this weekend, the participants were picked from a pool of 75 excellent vocalists.
Gerald, Abigail, Jordan, Itohan, Banty, David Operah, Zadok, Faith, Progress, Debby, Precious, and Joel emerged as the top 12 contestants for the live show, which will be shown every Sunday on DStv Channel 197 and GOtv Channel 29.

Itohan’s sonorous voice also captivated the judges, but Banty’s deep voice was the center of attention. As part of the judges’ efforts to make the talent discovery show exciting, Precious and Joel’s incredible performances boosted the number of contestants from 10 to 12.
The judges were Dapo Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name D’Banj; Simisola Bolatito Kosoko, better known by her stage name Simi; and Obi Asika, a creative industry entrepreneur, with Ikponmwosa (IK) Osakioduwa as host.
Bigi, the carbonated soft drink brand from the Rite Foods stable, is the official sponsor of Nigerian Idol Season 7.
Ms Boluwatife Adedugbe, Rite Foods’ Brand Manager, noted that the firm funded the program because of its unwavering commitment to strengthening the Nigerian creative industry by discovering and fostering young talents who will represent the country proudly at international events.
