What Is Big Brother Mzansi All About?
Big Brother Mzansi is a South African reality competition television series based worldwide. Members of the public live in a specially constructed house and are observed 24 hours a day by the audience, who also decides who ultimately wins the game by voting.
It’s a slacker’s dream: taking a few months off work, relaxing in a jacuzzi for hours on end, gaining 15 minutes of fame, and the chance to win a million dollars.
Big Brother Mzansi is here.
A group of ordinary people, chosen from thousands of applicants, live together in a specially designed house, cut off from the outside world and monitored by viewers throughout the country 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Housemates will nominate each other for elimination at regular intervals.
The housemates that receive the most nominations will face a fan vote. They are ejected from the game if they do not comply.
The huge jackpot is won by the last person standing at the conclusion.
Big Brother, the iconic and renowned character at the center of it all, introduces his twists and turns into the game along the way.
With the first 24/7 Big Brother broadcasts in the southern hemisphere in 2001, M-Net and format owner and production company Endemol SA introduced the notion of reality television to South African audiences.
After a second season in South Africa in 2002, Big Brother expanded throughout the continent with Big Brother Africa.
After nearly 13 years, the show was relaunched as Big Brother Mzansi and is presently shown on Mzansi Magic.
