Tulsi Tanti Biography

Tulsi Tanti was an Indian businessman who was born on February 2, 1958, and passed away on October 1, 2022. He is best remembered for founding Suzlon and serving as its Chairman and Managing Director. He was renowned as the Wind man of India and served as the president of the Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association in addition to his role as the Chairman of ZF Wind Power Antwerpen, which is a producer of wind turbine gearboxes situated in Belgium since May 2006.

In 2006, Tanti was recognized as being one of the two wealthiest energy entrepreneurs in the world,  and Suzlon was the largest wind power firm in the world in terms of market valuation.  He was ranked seventh on India’s Global Wealth Club List[3, and he was also included on Forbes’ list of Billionaire Blowups for the year 2008.

An engineer by profession, Tanti was originally the owner and manager of small textile industry; Beleaguered by intermittent electricity supply, he bought a couple of wind turbines to fix the problem and subsequently expanded out into wind power.

 

 

Cause of Death

On October 1, 2022, Tanti passed away as a result of a cardiac attack at the age of 64.
