Tanner Bruhn Biography

Tanner Bruhn is an Australian rules footballer who was born on May 27, 2002. He is now a member of the Geelong Football Club, which competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). The Greater Western Sydney Giants selected him with the 12th overall pick in the AFL draft in 2020 and signed him to a contract.


Early football 

Bruhn kicked off his professional football career with the Newtown & Chilwell Football Club, which is located in the western suburbs of Geelong. Between the years of 2013 and 2018, Bruhn participated in 55 games for the club. As a 16-year-old student at Geelong Grammar School, he competed for the school’s Firsts team and was named the best and fairest player in 2018. He received this title in 2018. He participated in the Under 16 Championships for Vic Country, where he earned the Most Valuable Player award and the All-Australian championship. His 2019 season was disrupted by injury after he damaged his knee; nonetheless, he was fit enough to play a few matches with the Geelong Falcons in the NAB League, and he played for Vic Country in the 2019 AFL Under 18 Championships. His injury occurred in 2019.



AFL career 

After it was shown that Bruhn had a solemn reaction to being picked by them on draft night, there was immediate criticism surrounding Bruhn’s new career with the Giants. Bruhn was shown to have a solemn reaction to being drafted by them. However, he later said that it was owing to the fact that he has a nature that can be described as “reserved,” as well as the fact that he was astonished. Bruhn made his first appearance in an AFL game with Greater Western Sydney during the opening round of the 2021 season. Bruhn had a successful first game, finishing with 9 disposals, 2 tackles, and 2 clearances. Bruhn was cut from the team after the following week’s match against Fremantle, in which he had only seven disposals to his name. After scoring an impressive goal in the eighth round of the season, Bruhn was given a nomination for the Goal of the Year award. During the 2022 Trade Period, Geelong acquired him from Melbourne in exchange for Pick 18.
