PnB Rock Biography

Rakim Hasheem Allen, better known by his stage name PnB Rock aka Grundle, was born on December 9, 1991, and is a rapper and vocalist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States of America. His singles “Fleek” (2015) and “Selfish” (2016), the latter of which reached number 51 on the US Billboard Hot 100, are mostly responsible for his widespread popularity. Catch These Vibes (2017) and TrapStar Turnt PopStar are his two studio albums that have been released so far (2019). Allen was selected to be a member of the XXL Freshman Class in the year 2017.

Allen was shot and killed on September 12, 2022, in the course of a robbery that took place at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles in Los Angeles.

Early life

On December 9th, 1991, Rakim Hasheem Allen was born in the Germantown district of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Allen’s mother was mostly responsible for his upbringing because his father was killed when Allen was just three years old. During his teenage years, he spent most of his time in the Northeast section of Philadelphia. He spent his childhood listening to music by R&B group Jodeci and rap artist 2Pac. Allen was placed in a program for juveniles after he committed a series of robberies and got into fights at school when he was 13 years old. After being convicted of drug possession and other offenses, he was given a sentence of 33 months in prison when he became 19 years old. After being released from prison, Allen spent a brief time period without a place to call home. He did not complete his high school education. Later in his career, Allen took on the stage moniker PnB Rock, which is a reference to the intersection of Pastorius and Baynton, which is located close to the home in Germantown, Philadelphia, where he spent his childhood.

Career

PnB Rock announced the release of his first mixtape, titled Real N*gga Bangaz, on June 24, 2014. While he was behind bars, he composed the songs that would appear on the mixtape. PnB Rock secured a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2015, and under the company, he released his first project dubbed RnB3, which is his third mixtape. The mixtape was published under the Atlantic Records label. A popular single titled “Selfish” was released by him in June of 2016. On the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, the song reached its highest position at number 51. Rolling Stone magazine featured him as one of “10 New Artists You Need to Know” on their list that was published in October of 2016.

On January 10, 2017, he released his second retail mixtape album titled GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions. This album was distributed by Empire Distribution and Atlantic Records. On the Billboard 200 list in the United States, the album debuted at position number 28. After that, in April of 2017, he contributed to the soundtrack of The Fate of the Furious with two singles: “Horses” with Kodak Black and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and “Gang Up” with Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and Wiz Khalifa. Along with A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Playboi Carti, Ugly God, Kyle, Aminé, MadeinTYO, Kamaiyah, and Kap G, PnB Rock was recognized in June 2017 by XXL as a member of the publication’s “2017 Freshman Class.”

PnB Rock has also stated that the Bronx rapper Carlos was involved in the writing of his record “Nowadays.” Carlos has featured PnB Rock on his popular song “Let’s Get Personal,” which was released during the summer. In May of 2019, he released his debut studio album, titled TrapStar Turnt PopStar.

PnB Rock and Chance the Rapper are both featured on Ed Sheeran’s song “Cross Me,” which can be found on Sheeran’s album titled No.6 Collaborations Project. “Cross Me” also features PnB Rock.

PnB Rock is responsible for the publication of a song titled “Ordinary” in January 2020, which included the late rapper Pop Smoke. The following year, in January 2021, the artist featured King Von in a song titled “Rose Gold,” again including Pop Smoke.

PnB Rock announced the release of his new mixtape, titled “SoundCloud Daze,” in February 2022. The mixtape features a variety of musicians, such as Pasto Flocco, Yung Fazo, and others.

After being robbed on September 12, 2022 in Los Angeles near the intersection of Main Street and Manchester Avenue, PnB Rock was visiting a Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles when he was fatally shot and killed. On the same day, he was ruled to be deceased.

Personal life

PnB Rock is the father of two young girls that were delivered in 2013 and 2020 respectively. The younger of the two was delivered by Stephanie Sibounheuang.
