Fernando Zobel de Ayala Biography

Fernando Miranda Zóbel de Ayala GCLH, a businessman from the Zóbel de Ayala family, was born on March 14, 1960. He is the Ayala Corporation’s president and chief executive officer.



In addition to his role at Ayala Corporation, Zóbel serves as chairman of the following companies: Ayala Land, Inc.; Manila Water Company, Inc.; AC International Finance Ltd.; Ayala International Pte Ltd.; Ayala DBS Holdings, Inc.; Alabang Commercial Corporation; AC Energy Holdings, Inc.; Hero Foundation, Inc.; co-chairman of the Ayala Foundation, Inc.; co-vice chairman of Mermac

In addition to this, he serves on the boards of directors of a number of other worldwide and local corporate as well as socio-civic organizations, including the following:

Zóbel received his preparatory education at Ladycross School and his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982 from Harvard College. Zóbel’s education continued at Harvard College. In addition to that, he earned a Certificate in International Management from INSEAD, which is located in France.

Personal life 

Catherine Silverio, whose father was a longtime coach in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), is Zóbel’s wife. They are parents to four little ones.


On June 29, 2010, Zóbel was promoted to the rank of Grand Commander in the Philippine Legion of Honor.
