On the Billboard world album charts, the album titled “Made In Lagos” has been present for a total of 102 weeks. It’s possible that the number won’t surprise you, but Wizkid actually tied a record that Cesaria Evora had been holding for the previous 27 years with her album that was simply titled “Cesaria.”

Before Wizkid tied the record on Monday, February 14, 2022, it had been the longest-charting African album for 27 years, but he eventually surpassed it the week of October 28, 2022.

2. 1st African And Nigerian Song To Receive Platinum Certification In USA

The song “Essence” by Wizkid, which featured Tems and was taken from the album “Made in Lagos,” was the first Nigerian and African song to sell more than one million copies in the United States. On Monday, October 4, 2021, the RIAA granted the song the Platinum certification.
